They are available as standalone modules (TSP-BCMU360) that can be connected to any 24V DC or 48V DC power supply or integrated into a compact 24V DC power supply (TSPC 240-124UPS).

The units are designed to operate with any external 12V DC lead-acid battery. A step-up converter is used to maintain the output voltage level in the event of a power failure. Two internal decoupling diodes allow operation with two independent voltage sources (redundant inputs) to further increase output reliability.
During normal operation, the connected 12V battery is charged with a constant charging current. This current will be reduced if the battery reaches the factory-set value of 13.6V DC, which is the typical end-of-charge voltage at 25°C for most brands of lead-acid batteries. If required, this level can be adjusted with a battery voltage potentiometer.
If the external temperature compensation probe is connected, the end-of-charge voltage will follow the typical end-of-charge voltage vs. temperature graph (14.2V DC at 0°C, 13.2V DC at 50°C).
The battery's internal state of charge is tested at regular intervals using an internal current pulse.
The factory default interval is 10 minutes. This can be changed to 15 seconds for testing purposes by adjusting the jumper position.
If the input voltage does not recover, the battery voltage will continue to drop, while the output power will continue to be supplied at the required voltage level.
To prevent complete battery discharge, which can lead to battery failure, the battery is disconnected at the full discharge limit.
Additionally, the battery is protected against short circuits and overcharging by a built-in fuse, accessible from the front panel.
Main power, battery status, and output voltage are constantly monitored, and their status is displayed via LED indicators and relay contacts. The battery can also be disconnected remotely from the unit using the external battery on/off input.
These features ensure maximum battery life and reliability.
