The input range for both models is 90-264VAC (130-370VDC), and the available outputs are 4, 5, 12, 15, and 24V. The outputs are semi-regulated but remain within +/-5% of line; the operating temperature range is -25°C to +55°C. The -K and -KT variants also operate up to +75°C with reduced power output.
Safety certifications include UL/IEC/EN 62368-1 for IT/multimedia and IEC/EN 60335-1 for household applications, with reinforced insulation/3kVAC. No-load power consumption is less than 100mW, and light-load efficiency is high, allowing significant power to be drawn in standby mode without exceeding ErP limits. The RAC05E-KT series meets the Class B electromagnetic compatibility limits of EN 55014 and EN 55032 without the need for external components, while the RAC05E-K requires only a simple external filter. Comprehensive protection against short circuits, output overvoltage, overcurrent, and overtemperature is provided with automatic recovery. Component reliability is high, with the -K series achieving over 1.6 million hours of service life at 25°C and the -KT series over 2.2 million hours, backed by RECOM's 3-year warranty.

“These low-cost AC/DC converters are an excellent way to go from 3W to 5W in the same space or to replace EI30 transformers with additional rectification and smoothing circuitry with a single high-efficiency module,” says Michael Schrutka, AC/DC Product Manager at RECOM, adding: “They are ideal for industrial and building automation, ITE, office, home, IoT, and test and measurement applications worldwide where a semi-regulated output is sufficient.”
