“In commercial and industrial applications, when considering power protection and battery backup, operators must focus on reliability and weigh the high cost of downtime,” says Vincenzo Salmeri, VP Commercial and Industrial of the Secure Power Division at Schneider Electric. “When power is not controlled, a range of problems can arise, including data loss and the need to restart automation machines from scratch after an outage. Thanks to remote monitoring and management, Schneider Electric’s Easy UPS helps operators in these environments fully control and protect their investment.”
Easy UPS ensures the continuity of controllers and HMI panels. Furthermore, it reduces maintenance by using 0-5V signals from the relay to save data and programs during shutdowns, eliminating the need to restart automation equipment after a power outage.
The new industrial UPS also allows for the addition of up to four extra battery packs to extend runtime during prolonged power outages and enhances control over the industrial infrastructure by enabling UPS management and diagnostics via relay contacts and equipment status verification through LED indicators.
