The Kinetis KL series of MCUs is one of the most efficient in its class. The new Freedom Kinetis FROM-KL27Z platform, based on the Cortex-M0+ core, features USB OTG to Flex I/O module functionality, a ROM bootloader, and crystal-less low-power USB. The efficient 48MHz ARM Cortex-M0+ core, multiple low-power modes, and autonomous low-power peripherals, including USB "Keep Alive" mode, make it ideal for low-power or battery-powered applications.
Supporting tools include the Kinetis Design Studio IDE, Software Development Kit, and Processor Expert. The main board is also available in an ultra-small 36XFBGA (3.5x3.5x0.5mm) package.
Use cases for this new product include portable and consumer devices such as home healthcare, remote controls, and rechargeable devices.
