smarteverything-wArrow's SmartEverything board aims to reduce design cycles and development times so users can quickly connect and control devices via the internet. SmartEverything uses the SIGFOX global mobile connectivity solution to access the Internet of Things.

Based on the familiar Arduino platform, Arrow's SmartEverything includes a Telit SIGFOX module and GPS with an integrated antenna for location tracking. It also leverages Telit's M2M device management software to quickly and efficiently connect devices to the cloud. SIGFOX uses UNB (Ultra Narrow Band) radio technology to connect devices to the global network. UNB consumes very little power, and UNB devices operate on globally available ISM bands (frequency bands that do not require a license).

The development board features STMicroelectronics proximity, humidity, temperature, and acceleration sensors. Acceleration limits are selectable in ranges of ±2/4/8/16 g. The board has a TDK Bluetooth Low Energy interface for short-range connectivity, allowing it to be adjusted and controlled via a mobile phone, and an NXP NFC tag with an I2C serial interface for authentication. SmartEverything also includes an Atmel ARM Cortex-M0+-based CPU-USB host controller chip that manages all traffic between peripherals. Atmel-based cryptographic authentication enables the implementation of a fully secure SHA-256 hash function algorithm with Message Authentication Code (MAC). It also incorporates an 868MHz Dynaflex antenna and Linear Technology power management devices.

Arrow Electronics has developed the SmartEverything board in collaboration with a select group of component suppliers and specialist designers from Metodo2 and Cipierre Elettronica in Italy. SmartEverything will be available in early Q2 2015.
