The HT1381B is designed for low power consumption and can operate in two time formats: 12-hour format with AM/PM indicator and 24-hour format.
This new device is ideal for a wide variety of products requiring timing functions, such as voltmeters, water meters, gas meters, electricity meters, data logging systems, monitoring systems, household appliances, home automation systems, computer products, access control and registration systems, telephones, irrigation systems, cash registers, office automation products, and more.
This new RTC differs from previous models (HT1381/HT1381A) in that the load capacitor integrated into the crystal oscillator circuit is smaller, at 7pF, compared to the 9pF capacitance of the earlier models, allowing it to support a wider range of crystal specifications. This new device is fully compatible with previous models in terms of the package pinout.
The HT1381B is designed to operate at voltages between 2 V and 5 V, with a typical low current consumption of 0.7 μA and a maximum of 1.2 μA. The HT1381B features several registers for storing data in 8-bit format. To minimize the number of pins, the HT1381B uses serial transmission to communicate with a microprocessor using only three wires. Data can be transmitted one byte at a time (Single-Byte Mode) or in bursts of up to 8 bytes (Burst Mode).
The device is supplied in an 8-pin SOP package and meets industrial specification requirements, operating reliably over a wide temperature range of −40°C to 85°C.
