The new devices are designed to address the evolution of infrastructure towards 800V electrical distribution architectures and 48V cooling systems, which require higher power density and more efficient energy management. The range includes new versions of the ACS37030 and ACS37002 current sensors, the AHV85311 Power-Thru isolated door driver, and an improved version of the A89333 QuietMotion motor controller.

ACS37030 and ACS37002 sensors with 6,000 V galvanic isolation

The ACS37030 and ACS37002 current sensors are available in new wide-body packages designed to improve electrical isolation in high-voltage systems. Both devices incorporate a high Conductive Path Index (CTI) encapsulation compound and provide 6,000 V galvanic isolation, according to Allegro specifications.

These features enable fast and accurate current measurements in 800V power supply architectures, contributing to equipment monitoring and protection. Applications include power supplies, battery backup units, and capacitor banks that must respond to sudden changes in energy demand from artificial intelligence loads.

The compact design also facilitates its integration without significantly increasing the space occupied by power supplies or power modules in racks.

AHV85311 Power-Thru Driver for SiC Transistors

Allegro also incorporates the AHV85311 Power-Thru, an isolated gate driver designed for controlling silicon carbide (SiC) field-effect transistors. One of its main features is that it eliminates the need for a separate isolated power supply to drive the transistors. According to the manufacturer, this integration can reduce the footprint on the printed circuit board by up to 50%.

The solution is geared towards the development of compact power supplies and fast-response solid-state circuit breakers for 800 V electrical systems. These features simplify the design of power circuits and improve the use of available space in the equipment.

A89333 QuietMotion 48V Fan Controller

The new version of the A89333 QuietMotion is designed to control fan motors used in server cooling systems. The device is geared towards 48V fans and features integrated control functions that allow for automatic management of changes in airflow conditions. Its architecture eliminates the need for manufacturers to develop complex motor control software, which can reduce design time.

The controller is suitable for compact fans used in 1U, 2U, and 4U servers, where available space and heat dissipation are critical factors. Allegro also notes that this type of solution can be used in pumps for liquid cooling systems.

Acbel Polytech integrates Allegro sensors

Power solutions manufacturer Acbel Polytech has incorporated Allegro's high-speed current sensors into its new high-density power systems for AI data centers. The integration aims to improve the accuracy of electrical control and protect equipment from rapid load variations.

Rossi Lo, Head of Research and Development at Acbel, highlights the importance of having measurement and protection systems capable of responding to new energy distribution architectures.

The collaboration reflects the growing need to integrate advanced monitoring functions into power supplies intended for intensive computing infrastructures.

Applications in data centers, automation and automotive

The transition to 800V systems for electrical distribution and 48V for cooling is driving demand for components that combine insulation, efficiency, and compact dimensions. In addition to data centers, Allegro's new devices can be used in industrial automation, robotics, and onboard charging systems for electric vehicles.

Troy Coleman, senior vice president of Products at Allegro, notes that the new solutions address different needs of AI infrastructures, from high-voltage conversion and protection to intelligent cooling control.

According to internal estimates and third-party data cited by the company, Allegro expects its AI data center addressable accessible (SAM) market to reach $1.7 billion in fiscal year 2031.

With this expansion, Allegro MicroSystems strengthens its semiconductor offering to improve power density, electrical protection, and the efficiency of cooling systems in next-generation data centers.
