48V power systems are attracting increasing attention as a highly efficient alternative to conventional 12V power systems. As this technology is expected to become widespread by 2030, the need for 80V power MOSFETs that offer even lower power losses than standard 100V devices is growing.

ROHM's new products are expected to reduce the size compared to standard automotive MOSFET packages such as the TO-252 (6.6 × 10.0 mm), adopting HPLF5060 (4.9 × 6.0 mm) and DFN3333 (3.3 × 3.3 mm) packages.

The HPLF5060 features Gull Wing pins, while the DFN3333 incorporates patented Wettable Flank technology, which contributes to improved printed circuit board (PCB) reliability. Furthermore, by adopting copper clip bonding technology for enhanced heat dissipation, these devices are capable of handling high currents. All models meet the AEC-Q101 automotive reliability standard, ensuring high dependability.

Series production of the new products began in April 2026 for the AG160FNS4FRA (HPLF5060) and AG166FNH7FRA (DFN3333). Online sales have already begun, and the products are also available for purchase through online retailers such as DigiKey and Farnell.

The product range for these packages will be expanded in the near future. Furthermore, development has begun on products with TOLG (TO-Leaded with Gullwing, 9.9 × 11.7 mm) packages, which will allow for further expansion of the high-power, high-reliability 80 V MOSFET range.
