Yusuke Nagata of Panasonic Industry Europe summarizes: "The ZU series is capable of withstanding ripple currents up to 53% better than its predecessor. For a 10 x 12.5mm diameter at 25V DC, we achieve 5 Arms, and for the equivalent 10 x 16.5mm, 5.8 Arms. The ZSU series," Nagata continues, "takes our capacitance specifications for hybrid capacitors to a whole new level: For a 10 x 12.5mm diameter at 25V DC, we achieve 680µF, and for the equivalent 10 x 16.5mm, 1000µF.".
Furthermore, the ZU series stands out for its temperature resistance of 4,000 hours at 135/125℃, which is one of the highest tolerances currently available in the industry.
Speaking of harsh conditions "under the hood" or in other industrial environments, Panasonic Industry offers new AEC-Q200 compliant vibration-proof versions for diameters of 6 mm and larger, withstanding shocks of up to 30G.
Therefore, the ZU series is suitable for any application where high ripple current is essential, such as 48V automotive applications like integrated starter generators (ISGs), DC/DC converters, oil pumps, water pumps, or fan motors.
The ZSU series, however, is an option when it comes to applications that require state-of-the-art capacitance - EPS, e-compressors, ADAS applications, or also oil pumps and the like.
