acpl-32jtwebThe device features an integrated flyback controller that supports regulated output voltage and a comprehensive suite of fail-safe IGBT diagnostics, protection, and fault reporting capabilities that meet automotive functional safety requirements. The ACPL-32JT is ideal for use in applications such as a drive system traction inverter, power converter, battery charger, air conditioning unit, and oil pump motor drive for electric vehicles (EVs), hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs), and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs).

The ACPL-32JT expands Avago's R2Coupler™ automotive product family and aims to further simplify the design of automotive multi-channel IGBT driver boards. By integrating the flyback driver, the ACPL-32JT allows for fewer discrete components and a small, high-efficiency transformer to be placed alongside the IC, thereby reducing the overall footprint and minimizing electromagnetic interference (EMI) and noise coupling between IGBT channels. The ACPL-32JT enables automotive power module designers to develop extremely compact, energy-efficient, 6-channel IGBT driver modules.

More than 50 automotive EV, HEV, and PHEV manufacturers and suppliers have adopted or are designing products with the automotive R2 coupler that are related to the battery management system, drive system traction inverter, converter, charger, air conditioning compressor, heater, oil pump, CAN bus interface, analog detection systems, and fault feedback system.
