The MLX90393, based on the company's proprietary Triaxis® technology, offers virtually unlimited versatility in all types of human-machine interface implementations, from joysticks, slide switches, push/pull switches, levelers, linear rocker switches, and rotary knobs to 3D position sensing systems. Designed for ultra-low-power applications, the IC consumes only 2.5µA of current in standby mode. It utilizes a monolithic magnetic pixel cell configuration and has a 16-bit output resolution.
Engineers can access the MLX90393's various operating modes via its SPI and I2C interfaces: continuous mode, single measurement mode, change-trigger mode, and burst mode. Furthermore, device adjustments can be made during operation to suit specific application requirements. The programmable duty cycle in burst mode ranges from 0.1% to 100%. This higher range allows for applications with fast response times. Similarly, with the lower duty cycle, current consumption is reduced for supply voltages starting at 2.2V.
The MLX90393, which can operate in a temperature range of -40°C to +85°C, is supplied in a 3mm x 3mm QFN package.
