Behind these values lies NexSonic technology, developed by Baumer to maximize the performance of ultrasonic sensors.
NexSonic utilizes an ultrasonic processor (ASIC) developed by Baumer and a proprietary, patented sensing element. In NexSonic ultrasonic sensors, the piezoelectric element with ASIC is directly connected to the diaphragm. The result: shorter signal distance and improved electromagnetic compatibility. The compact evaluation electronics enable faster and more reliable signal processing.

Other advantages of NexSonic technology include an adaptive sound beam, ideal for detecting objects through narrow openings, and intelligent filter functions. These filters eliminate interfering objects.
The UF300 with NexSonic technology is the latest member of Baumer's new generation of ultrasonic sensors. Available in measuring or switching versions, the UF300 joins the Baumer Toolbox as a family of sensors with maximum range.

The Baumer Toolbox of ultrasonic sensors comprises six sensor families: UF200, UF300, U300, U500, UR12, and UR18, available in various designs and sizes. The new UF300 and UF200 are ideal for front mounting. The U300 (flask) and UR12 (cylindrical) models are so compact that they fit even in the tightest spaces. The U500 (cubic) and UR18 (cylindrical) are extremely robust.
Intralogistics is a preferred application for the new UF300. Here, the sensors leverage their strengths thanks to the unique combination of form factor and long detection range of up to 3 meters, even on irregular objects or difficult-to-detect materials. The UF300 ultrasonic sensor is ideal for tasks such as pallet detection on long forks or in storage, and for monitoring doors in cold storage facilities. Other applications include the packaging and electronics industries.
The UF300 will be available from December 2025.
