It allows developers to efficiently create and evaluate multi-sensor fusion solutions. The new tool will be available globally, except in territories subject to sanctions.
The signing ceremony took place on September 16, 2025, at Espressif's headquarters in Shanghai, with Stefan Finkbeiner, Managing Director and CEO of Bosch Sensortec; Wang Hongyu, President for Asia-Pacific; and Teo Swee Ann, Founder and CEO of Espressif, in attendance.
“With our collaboration with Espressif, we are effectively democratizing our advanced sensor technology. Their support of the ecosystem is key to driving sensor adoption across multiple consumer applications and shaping next-generation IoT solutions,” said Stefan Finkbeiner, CEO of Bosch Sensortec.
Teo Swee Ann, founder and CEO of Espressif, added: “By integrating Bosch Sensortec’s high-performance, proven MEMS sensors into our platforms, we enable our customers to develop robust and accurate sensing solutions for virtually any application, with uncompromising quality from the ground up.”

Modular Design for Versatile Applications:
The ESP-SensairShuttle features a modular architecture based on the Espressif ESP32-C5 microcontroller. With interchangeable sensor boards from Bosch and Espressif and a touchscreen, developers can combine different sensors without redesigning the hardware, facilitating the creation of environmental, motion, and magnetic field monitoring applications and significantly reducing development and validation barriers.
The platform is compatible with multiple shuttle boards, which integrate Bosch Sensortec sensors such as:
BME690 Board:
Integrates temperature, humidity, pressure, and air quality (VOC and CO₂ equivalent) sensors, covering key environmental monitoring needs.
BMI270 and BMM350 Boards:
The ultra-low-power BMI270 IMU offers gesture, context, and activity recognition, with an integrated step counter for wearables.
The BMM350 digital compass employs TMR (Tunnel Magneto-Resistance) technology, providing high accuracy, ultra-low noise, and excellent stability against field shocks.

Computing power, multi-protocol connectivity, and ready-to-use software.
The core of the system is the ESP32-C5, with a 32-bit RISC-V processor running at up to 240 MHz, 384 KB of SRAM, and 320 KB of ROM, suitable for real-time processing, sensor fusion, and edge computing. It offers 29 GPIO pins and support for I²C, SPI, and UART.
For wireless connectivity, it supports dual-band Wi-Fi 6 (2.4 and 5 GHz), Bluetooth 5 LE, and IEEE 802.15.4 (Zigbee and Thread), facilitating multi-protocol IoT networks.
The platform includes Bosch factory firmware, allowing immediate access to sensor data and Bosch algorithms for motion recognition, orientation, and environmental monitoring without initial software development. Furthermore, it is compatible with the Espressif ESP-IDF framework and Bosch open-source components, enabling a smooth transition from prototyping to final product.
