Scanivalve Miniature Pressure Scanner
It is the perfect choice where space is limited, such as in wind tunnel models, where keeping the tube length as short as possible is also important. Significant improvements have been made in this generation of products regarding accuracy when used in dynamic temperature environments. This also makes the MPS an excellent choice for flight testing or other demanding applications. A thermal control unit (TCU) is also available, designed to protect the MPS in harsh environments and provide temperature control when the module may be subjected to extreme temperatures. Applications include wind tunnels, flight testing, and a wide variety of other applications.
The MPS4000 miniature pressure scanner has been designed from the ground up to be a game-changer in the world of multi-channel miniature pressure measurement. Scanivalve has spent years developing a product that will exceed expectations where high-speed, high-precision data acquisition is paramount and space constraints are significant. The MPS scanner is a complete, easy-to-use data acquisition system requiring only a low-current DC power supply (9-36VDC) and an Ethernet connection. It boasts small dimensions, TCP/IP connectivity, IEEE1588 support, and a host of other innovative features.
Another important improvement and feature of the MPS is the new valve design. The valve can be ordered in different configurations from the standard (NPX) version, which defaults to measurement mode and eliminates the need for any control pressure source, except when changing the module's state to calibration/purge mode. This can greatly simplify your system architecture and eliminates the need for multiple valves and a constant pressure "muscle." The alternative configuration supports what we call PX control (CPX). This allows MPS modules to be installed alongside products that require a control pressure to be applied when switching to measurement or calibration/purge mode. The new valve design is also maintenance-free.
The MPS4264 is easy to use and will integrate quickly into your system. It has an integrated web server that allows the user to configure and operate the unit(s) from any device on the network. Those wishing to use a LabVIEW® interface will be pleased to find the MPS was designed with this in mind, and sample VIs are available upon request.
