sensor-p43 lr2-wThe PIL P43 ultrasonic sensors offer the longest range in the industry – from 250 mm to 6000 mm. Available in M12, M18, and M30 sizes – with or without a sensor housing or cube. Highly accurate, it provides a small, conical sound waveform, two internal LEDs for echo-justification, and internal analog sensors. It requires no digital translation and suffers no loss of accuracy. The P43 provides a standard 0-10V / 4-20mA analog output and two interchangeable outputs. In addition to these fixed features, the P43 series can be programmed via Teach-In for a variety of other custom configurations.
“The new PIL P43 Ultrasonic Sensors are an excellent solution for a variety of applications where accurate distance measurement is critical,” explains Dr. Heimann, CEO of PIL. “We are very excited to provide the industry with the first long-range ultrasonic sensor that delivers accurate results at distances up to 6000 mm.”
Ultrasonic sensors use an ultrasonic transducer to send and receive sound waves. Specially coded ultrasonic signals are transmitted in a specific pattern. After being reflected by the object being measured, the signals are received by the sensor and decoded. The recorded time of flight is compensated for temperature and converted into distance information. Ultrasonic distance sensors are often used in harsh industrial environments because they are independent of the material and color of the object being measured and are unaffected by light, dust, or fog. Their operation is extremely accurate and linear due to their background suppression.
A variety of PIL ultrasonic sensors had previously been introduced to the US market, known under different names and brands.
