The motherboards offer massive onboard memory of up to 8 Gigabits (16 GB) and the ability to transmit data at speeds of up to 10 Gigabytes per second directly from the CPU or even the GPU. Four different models comprise the M5i.63xx AWG series, providing a perfect solution for every application.

The four AWG variants allow for the generation of waveforms with bandwidths of 2.5 and 1.5 gigahertz (GHz) and output rates of 10, 5, or 3.2 gigasamples per second (GS/s). The units combine 16-bit vertical resolution with programmable full-scale outputs. Individual outputs provide up to ±500 mV into 50 ohms and ±1.0 V into high-impedance loads, or twice that range in differential mode.

Each board comes with 2 GB of onboard memory (8 GB optional) and high-speed data transfer via a 16-lane, Gen 3 PCIe bus. This ultra-fast bus allows data to flow at high speeds, reaching up to 10 GB/s. For demanding applications, data can even be continuously streamed directly to the AWG for FIFO playback, enabling virtually unlimited waveform output. Add Spectrum's SCAPP driver package, which allows direct FIFO streaming to and from a GPU, for even faster waveform processing.

Waveforms can be generated in single-trigger, repeat, and multiple-trigger modes. To maximize memory efficiency, multiple-trigger can be used to generate segmented data and can also be combined with FIFO transmission. Waveform playback can be initiated by a simple software command or through a trigger event. Trigger signals can be input on two external trigger lines.

The individual boards have one or two analog output channels. To create larger multi-channel systems, the boards can be linked together using the company's proprietary Star-Hub clock and trigger synchronization module. Star-Hub allows systems with up to eight boards to share a common clock and trigger, providing fully synchronous output rates of 5 GS/s on up to 16 channels, or 10 GS/s on up to eight channels.

The four new models in the M5i.63xx AWG series and the seven variants in the M5i.33xx digitizer series are designed to work together, making them ideal for use in stimulus-response, receiver-transmitter, or closed-loop test systems. For example, using two Star-Hubs, ultra-fast MIMO systems can be built containing up to eight AWGs and eight digitizers. This allows for systems with up to 16 transmit and 16 receive channels, each channel with 5 GS/s.

To facilitate system integration, the front panel includes four multifunction SMA connectors. These can perform a wide variety of input/output tasks, such as asynchronous digital I/O, synchronous digital output, trigger output, status indicators for running and arming, or the system clock.
By converting the multifunction I/O lines to digital outputs, four additional synchronous output channels can be added to the AWG. Thus, a single AWG board can generate up to two analog and four digital outputs in parallel at full speed. Optionally, digital pulse generator firmware is available to convert the four digital outputs into digital pulse generator outputs. All of these features are very useful when interfacing with other equipment for experiment control or in OEM projects.

Fully programmable, the boards operate under Windows or Linux operating systems, using today's most popular and powerful software languages. All products are supplied with SDKs for C++, C#, Python, VB.NET, Julia, Java, and IVI. Drivers for third-party software products such as LabVIEW and MATLAB are also provided.

Spectrum M5i.63xx series AWG boards are available for immediate delivery. All boards are factory tested and include a five-year warranty, with free software and firmware updates for the product's lifetime.
