Pickering's 43-920-001 model, its first integrated PXI controller, was the first single-slot Gen 4 controller available for the PXI Express platform. In addition to giving customers a unique and powerful new controller option, it enabled Pickering to provide turnkey, "one-stop shop" PXIe systems consisting of a chassis, integrated controller (optionally loaded with a Windows operating system and Pickering drivers), switching/simulation/instrumentation modules, and cabling—all under a single purchase order, making test system procurement and integration much simpler. It also allowed Pickering to offer an integrated controller for its 21-slot hybrid PXIe chassis, which has only one controller slot.

Building on this first controller, Pickering's next-generation PXIe 43-920-002 embedded controller is the most compact and powerful 3U single-slot embedded controller available for the PXIe platform, delivering up to twice the performance of the 43-920-001. The controller, compliant with the PXI-5 PXI Express, rev. 2.0 hardware specification, is equipped with an 11th Gen Intel Xeon processor, paired with 64GB of DDR4 memory and a 2TB M.2 Type B SSD. With system throughput of up to 28GB/s, using either a 4-link or 2-link configuration, the controller easily supports demanding high-bandwidth measurement and test applications with future-proof PCIe Gen4 and 10GBASE-T interconnectivity.
