It is capable of performing advanced functions such as capacitor status monitoring, differential protection of the installation, prevention of capacitor failure due to harmonic overload, overheating detection, and more. All these functions contribute to a longer lifespan for the reactive power correction equipment and result in improved power quality, preventing unexpected outages.

Serial Communications:
Smart regulators feature RS-485 communications with MODBUS protocol. This allows the integration of the power factor regulator into a data network controlled by a computer (PC) equipped with CIRCUTOR's PowerStudio SCADA software.
Data logging, remote control and monitoring, and preventive maintenance of the power factor correction equipment are possible. The main parameters measured and recorded are: voltage and current, active, reactive, and apparent power in all three phases, power factor (cos φ), leakage current in the equipment itself or in a specific line, etc. Historical data and graphs can be generated from the stored data.
Built-in Leakage Control:
Smart regulators feature a circuit to measure ground leakage current using a WGC-type current transformer. This circuit measures the individual leakage current of each capacitor, allowing it to be deactivated if excessive leakage current is detected, thus ensuring the continued operation of the remaining capacitors.
Safety and Maintenance
• Computer Smart performs a self-check and displays the actual power and leakage current* of each capacitor.
• 14 fully configurable alarms with built-in switched relay output (Temperature, harmonics, leakage, out-of-range power factor associated with a minimum current, overvoltage, etc.).
• Individual recording of the total number of operations performed by each contactor/capacitor.
*Requires an external WGC series differential transformer for leakage measurement.
