With the new DG1022Z, part of a new family of fast, easy-to-use, and state-of-the-art test devices, Rigol presents a multifunctional generator that enables a wide range of tests by combining multiple functions in a single instrument. The device combines application areas such as function generator, arbitrary waveform generator, pulse generator, harmonic generator, and analog/digital modulation, as well as a counter function. In addition to DDS (Direct Digital Synthesizer) technology, which provides highly stable, accurate, and minimally distorted signals, signal jitter is reduced to 200 ps by SiFi, the innovative new Signal-Fidelity technology. The device features a 25 MHz bandwidth for sine and square waves and two standard, fully functional, and independently operating channels. Up to 160 built-in waveforms are available, and the various modulation modes include AM, FM, PM, ASK, FSK, PSK, and PWM. Standard USB Host & Device and LAN (LXI CoreDevice 2011) interfaces are available for communication purposes.
For its DS/MSO4000 midrange oscilloscope series, Rigol now offers LIN and CAN bus decoding options, making these instruments even more appealing. Users can upgrade to the DS/MSO4000 series with a cost-effective model and, if needed, perform a software upgrade to a higher level of functionality as their measurement tasks change. A typical scenario for needing increased bandwidth is when, for example, sharper pulse extremes need to be measured or when the frequency of the test signal has increased. Rigol offers three upgrade options for this purpose, which can also be implemented on already purchased oscilloscopes, provided the latest firmware version is installed.
