yokogawawt300webThe new instruments will help developers and manufacturers of electrical equipment (from household appliances to lighting and air conditioning systems) ensure their products comply with the latest IEC and EN standards, as well as other increasingly complex and stringent energy efficiency specifications.
Key features of the new instruments include a basic accuracy of 0.1% of reading, guaranteed across the entire measurement range (1% to 130%), a wide range of measurement modes, from the few milliamps consumed in standby mode to the 40 A used in induction cooktops, and great flexibility that allows them to be used by users in a wide variety of applications.
This flexibility is demonstrated, for example, by a wide range of communication interfaces, enabling the WT300 digital power meters to be integrated into laboratory test benches or automated production lines: USB (standard), GP-IB or RS-232 (also standard, selectable), and Ethernet (optional).
In addition to standard power measurements, the new devices offer a wide range of measurement capabilities: harmonics (up to the 50th order), RMS, average, and DC values, all simultaneously, reducing measurement times and allowing users to dedicate their time and effort to other tasks.
The guaranteed accuracy of the new power meters is due to the fact that Yokogawa has its own laboratory at its European headquarters in the Netherlands. This facility is the only industrial laboratory (non-governmental or national) that offers calibrations traceable to national and international standards at frequencies up to 100 kHz: a requirement for high-order harmonic measurements, specified in quality standards such as ISO 9000.
Other features of the new instruments include a DC bandwidth of 0.5 Hz to 100 kHz (20 kHz for the 40 A supported by the WT310HC model), as well as an auto-ranging function for instantaneous measurements and integration.
Software is also available to verify compatibility with energy-saving standards such as IEC62301 Ed2.0 and IEC62018, for standby operation or for waveforms with a crest factor of 5 or higher.
