The PanelPilot SGD 21-B from Lascar Electronics, one of the leading manufacturers of display panels for industrial applications, is an inexpensive, very low-power single-channel voltmeter with a stylish monochrome e-ink display.

E-ink displays are commonly used in consumer electronics, such as best-selling e-readers, but they are now beginning to be used in industrial applications. This type of display has two major advantages over other technologies: firstly, it can be read even in bright sunlight, and secondly, its energy consumption is very low.

The PanelPilot SGD 21-B features a 2.1-inch dot-matrix display with a resolution of 250 x 122 pixels. The product leverages Lascar's innovative Windows-based PanelPilot B platform, which allows users to configure and customize a range of compatible displays with a single mouse click. Furthermore, with pre-loaded, customizable display templates, users can get up and running quickly without writing any code.

For the new PanelPilot SGD 21-B, users can choose from various analog and digital voltmeter applications on the software platform and customize labels, scales, and alarms for their own use. The device allows for two alarm levels with one alarm output and one configurable digital I/O pin. A splash screen can be added that appears when the device is powered on. Once the application is complete, it can be uploaded to the SGD 21-B display using a USB cable.

A key feature of the product is its 4 to 9 V DC power supply with minimal power consumption, making it suitable for battery-powered mobile applications. Other specifications include dimensions of 73.8 x 37.5 x 10.8 mm and an operating temperature range of 0 to +40 °C.
