With standard bandwidths of 600 MHz, 1 GHz, and 2 GHz (for 2 channels) and a maximum sampling rate of 10 GS/s, the MSO8000 series is ideal for fast signal acquisition and analysis. Typical applications include automated factory testing, serial bus protocol analysis in automotive electronics, electronic circuit measurement, switching performance measurements, power domain analysis, and much more.

The MSO8000 series has received several improvements and features with the latest official firmware update. When using web control, the screen refresh rate has been increased, making viewing and operation even easier. For example, to create a zone trigger, the required field can now be defined with the mouse using the web control. Furthermore, Rigol has revised the 10.1-inch color touchscreen controller, making daily operation even more user-friendly. At the same time, the display quality of the signal trace in XY mode has been optimized. To improve the overall view during measurements, Rigol has implemented the mathematical application in such a way that the channel used for it can be disconnected, so that only the mathematical trace (e.g., the FFT with up to one million samples) is visible on the screen. The already diverse decoding options have been expanded to include CAN FD decoding on these devices.

For acquiring and processing large amounts of data, a 500 Mpts memory (standard) is available. Using the recording function, this memory can be increased to 900 Mpts by segmenting (for example, 9 frames of 100 Mpts each) or, by configuring a smaller memory, recording and playback of up to 450,000 frames of signals can be achieved.

The instrument's measurement methods include a real-time eye chart and jitter analysis software, which features visualization of the jitter trend in combination with the histogram for digital analysis.

A wide variety of triggering, mathematical, and display options (mask testing and power analysis) are available, along with a built-in signal search function, as well as all the usual serial bus protocol analysis and triggering functions. An integrated voltmeter, frequency counter, and optional 2-channel arbitrary function generator complete the measurement range of this X-in-1 device. Various interfaces are also available, including USB host, USB device, HDMI, LAN, USB GPIB (adapter), and AUX OUT.
As always, Rigol hasn't made excessive promises here, offering these fully equipped oscilloscopes with excellent value and the familiar 3-year Rigol warranty. A comprehensive range of accessories is also available, including active and passive probes, high-voltage probes, 19-inch mounting frames, software drivers for popular packages and high-level languages, and the free UltraScope operating software.
For this series, RIGOL offers many probes for multiple applications in its product portfolio, such as the PVA7250 2.5 GHz active differential probe.
