With a measurement capacity of up to 1000 A RMS and 1400 A peak current, the CP1000 sets new standards for the characterization of modern high-power systems.
As the first oscilloscope manufacturer to offer a current probe that combines a 1000 A DC current capacity with a 1.5 MHz bandwidth, Teledyne LeCroy fills the gap between traditional high-current transformers and high-bandwidth laboratory current probes. The CP1000 enables accurate measurements in modern power applications.
The most outstanding feature of the new current probe is its ability to measure DC currents up to 1000 A with a bandwidth ranging from DC to 1.5 MHz. This allows developers to analyze not only total current, but also fast switching events, current spikes, and high-frequency harmonics with exceptional accuracy. This capability is especially important for SiC- and GaN-based power circuits, as well as for power efficiency and loss measurements.
Unlike many available high-current measurement solutions, whose bandwidth is often limited to a few kilohertz, the CP1000 delivers the performance needed to analyze modern fast switching events. The wider bandwidth enables realistic capture of current rise times, contributing to a more accurate determination of switching losses and overall efficiency.
The CP1000 features a large 33 mm core opening, enabling measurements on large conductors and busbars without interrupting the circuit. A 6-meter cable also provides greater flexibility and safety when testing high-voltage and high-current systems.
Thanks to direct integration via Teledyne LeCroy's proven ProBus® interface, the probe is automatically recognized and scaled. Functions such as Auto-Zero and Degauss can be conveniently controlled directly from the oscilloscope, streamlining test setup and improving measurement accuracy.
