The current crisis caused by the coronavirus prevented the 2020 edition of Light + Building, originally scheduled for March, from taking place. As a result, the world trade fair for lighting and building technology was postponed to September 27 to October 2, 2020. Messe Frankfurt, together with its partners, has begun taking the necessary steps to ensure that the postponed event is held under the best possible conditions. After reassessing the situation, and ten weeks after the initial postponement, and considering the joint decision by the German federal government and the federal states to prohibit large events in Germany until at least the end of August, it is not guaranteed that the preparations and the event can be carried out safely. Furthermore, both the industry and the economy as a whole want the world's leading trade fair, Light + Building, to take place in accordance with customer expectations, content, and promised services. Given the current situation, Messe Frankfurt cannot guarantee that it will be able to meet these requirements.
