The company's semiconductor devices are used in medical equipment such as virus detection devices, ultrasound, analytical/laboratory equipment, ventilators, remote patient monitoring devices, intravenous blood monitors, temperature recorders for critical COVID medications, pulse oximeters, remote patient/IR thermometers, blood glucose meters for diabetics, anesthesia machines, and disposable blood pressure patches.
“We are committed to helping alleviate the impact of this global pandemic. To support efforts in the fight against this disease, we are adjusting our manufacturing capacity to prioritize products used in medical equipment that aids in the diagnosis and treatment of patients with COVID-19,” says Tunç Doluca, President and CEO of Maxim Integrated. “Our products help enable a variety of medical solutions, such as those used for portable and remote vital sign monitoring, medication delivery, surgical equipment, and lung and airway imaging.”.
In addition to accelerating technology production, Maxim Integrated is helping to protect the wider community. For example, it has donated N95 masks to hospitals in Portland and Silicon Valley and continues fundraising efforts to support other affected regions. The company has personal protective equipment for frontline workers in Cavite, Philippines, and also provides weekly food contributions in the region. At company headquarters, employees are participating in a donation drive in support of the Second Harvest Food Bank, with Maxim Integrated matching employee donations up to $20,000. The company has also taken necessary precautions as part of a comprehensive business continuity plan to help safeguard the health and safety of its employees, implementing measures such as frequent disinfection of testing equipment, social distancing, and remote work for most employees.
