Nexperia has opened a major expansion at its ATGD discrete semiconductor testing and assembly plant in Guangdong, China. The total production and warehouse area now covers approximately 72,000 square meters, adding an additional 16,000 square meters of production space. ATGD traces its roots back to 2000. Operating 24/7/365 and employing 4,000 people, the facility focuses on cost reduction and excellence in quality and delivery. In 2017, the factory produced over 62 billion small signal transistors and diodes; in 2018, the projected throughput rate is over 2,000 pieces per second. Package options include SOT23, SOD323 and 523, SOT223, SOT143, MCD, Ucsp, Flip Chip, etc., and some of the newer package developments offered by ATGD include the large 8x8 mm LFPAK, the smaller DFN (GX4 for logic, DFN0606-4), and - ATGD-specific - fc-QFN (SOT1232) and 0402 chip-scale packages protected on 6 sides.
The plant has advanced production modules for its wire-free packages and more than 100 high-tech assembly flow lines are equipped with more than 1,500 advanced semiconductor manufacturing stations such as Die Saw, Die Bonding, Wire Bonding, Molding, Plating, Trim & Form, Testing, Marking and Taping.
