The solution developed in this project is a virtual, centralized, intelligent, and predictive thermal management tool. It is based on simulation and modeling software for the refrigeration cycle that integrates the thermal storage system.

InnoTHerMS' solution allows you to predict and control the heating or cooling of an electric vehicle, consuming the least amount of energy possible, maximizing range, and ensuring the thermal comfort of the passengers.

The technologies developed within the framework of the InnoTHerMS project aim to increase the driving autonomy of this type of vehicle by at least 10%.

The next step in the project will be to find a manufacturer to implement the solution, in any type of vehicle.

In France, the partners participating in this project are: CETHIL (INSA Lyon), IFP Energies Nouvelles, LAGEPP (Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1), Saint Jean Industries, and SEGULA; and in Germany: Fraunhofer, Green'ing, Hochschule Esslingen (University of Applied Sciences), and TheSys. InnoTHerMs benefits from public funding from the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region (France) and the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research.

SEGULA Technologies contributes its know-how and expertise in the automotive industry to the project, as well as its skills in thermodynamic modeling and calculations. Its research and testing relate to the design of a test vehicle, a light commercial delivery vehicle, and focus particularly on the passenger compartment and the cargo compartment used for transporting and maintaining the temperature of goods.

Beyond the InnoTHerMS project, SEGULA can offer a comprehensive tool for simulating and optimizing the thermal management of all types of vehicles and architectures. This tool could be used in the rail, aerospace, and construction sectors, as well as for the thermal management of solar panels.
