The regulated and isolated RPA40-FR series has an input range of 36–160V (200V/1 sec), including 72V, 96V, and 110V rail ratings with surge and sag protection. Single and dual low-noise outputs are available in 5V, 5.1V, 12V, 15V, 24V, +/-12V, and +/-15V, with individual outputs adjustable to a minimum of +/-10% (the 15V and 24V models can be adjusted to +20/-10%). No minimum load is required.

The RPA40-FR series achieves a maximum efficiency of 90%, which, combined with an advanced thermal design, allows for natural convection operation at high temperatures without derating up to 105°C ambient with reduced load and/or airflow. Protection against over-temperature, input undervoltage, output overcurrent, and short circuits is included. A control pin is also provided to turn off the DC/DC converters in a low-dissipation state.

The products' safety certifications include UL/EN/IEC 62368-1, EN 45545-2, and EN 50155, with a reinforced insulation rating of 3 kVAC/1 min. The EN 55032 Class A electromagnetic compatibility specification is met without external components, while Class B can be achieved with a simple external filter network. Reliability is high, with an MTBF of 1.25 MHrs at 25°C according to MIL-HDBK 217-F (GB), making these robust, encapsulated components well-suited for harsh railway environments as well as general industrial use.
