The ACS580 converter, the newest member of the Total Compatibility family, is the evolution of the highly successful ACS550 general-purpose converter, with over four million units sold. This unit is designed to control a wide range of constant and variable torque applications, such as pumps, fans, conveyors, and mixers in various industries. Its extremely intuitive configuration reduces commissioning time, virtually self-adjusting and efficiently controlling processes without wasting time or energy.
The ACS580's power range is from 0.75 to 250 kW, while the voltage range is from 208 to 480 V. The wall-mountable frequency converter is available with an IP55 enclosure.
The ACS580 converter includes integrated features such as an EMC filter for all types of neutral networks, a braking chopper up to frame size R3, Modbus RTU, Safe Torque Off (STO), and a state-of-the-art control panel with a wizard, for squirrel-cage induction motors, permanent magnet motors, and reluctance synchronous motors.
The converter generates reduced harmonics thanks to second-generation variable self-inductance reactance technology, integrated into a smaller and lighter design.
The ACS580 comes fully featured, simplifying converter selection and installation, saving you time and money. Commissioning requires no parameter knowledge or programming language skills, and it also includes PC Drive Composer, a commissioning and maintenance tool for ABB's Total Compatibility converters.
The simplified control panel settings menu, featuring state-of-the-art built-in wizards, helps configure the converter quickly and effectively. Menus are clearly labeled by function, such as limit settings, ramps, PID, or motor. All essential features are integrated as standard, reducing the need for additional hardware and simplifying frequency converter selection.
The frequency converter's energy optimization mode ensures maximum torque per amp, reducing power consumption. Integrated energy calculators, which include kWh used and saved, CO2 emission reduction, and cost savings, help users monitor and fine-tune processes to ensure optimal energy use from frequency converters.
