Thanks to its high-frequency zero-voltage switching (ZVS) topology, the DCM converter consistently delivers high efficiency across the input line range. Modular DCM converters and downstream DC-DC products support efficient power distribution, providing superior power system performance and connectivity from a variety of unregulated power sources to the point of load.
Targeting various applications, including UAVs, ground vehicles, radar, transportation, and industrial control, Vicor has added four new 30V input-rated modules (9-50V range) in a ChiP 3623 package (38.6 x 22.8 x 7.3 mm), suitable for a variety of applications. These converters have output voltages of 5, 24, 28, and 48V, and power levels up to 160W, achieving a power density of up to 404W/in³. Also announced is a 28V nominal input module (range 16-50V) in a 3623 ChiP package with a 3.3V output at 120W, a 375W module with a nominal input voltage of 275V (120-420V) and a 12V output in a 4623, and a 270V nominal input module (range 160-420V) in a 4623 ChiP package with a 48V output at 500W (48 x 22.8 x 7.3 mm), achieving a power density of 1.014W/in³.
