These 14- and 16-bit devices are characterized by a signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) exceeding 74 dB and a free-to-spurious dynamic range (SFDR) exceeding 90 dB, while the 12-bit devices offer 71.3 dB SNR and 90 dB SFDR. This enables highly accurate measurements of fast-moving input signals. These families operate with very low power consumption of 490 mW at 200 Msps, including LVDS digital I/O. Lower power consumption modes are available, with 80 mW in standby and 33 mW in power-off mode.
The MCP37DX1-200 and MCP372X1-200 families include several digital processing functions that simplify system design, reduce cost, and lower power consumption for designers. These families also incorporate decimation filters to increase signal-to-noise ratio (SNR), phase adjustment, offset and gain adjustment, as well as fractional delay recovery for time-delay correction in multichannel modes. Data is supplied via serial DDR LVDS or parallel CMOS interfaces and configured using SPI. The MCP37DX1-200 family integrates a buck converter, making it ideal for communications applications. The 12-bit families incorporate a noise-shaping requantizer that allows users to reduce noise levels in a specific band of interest to improve accuracy and performance. These families target applications in communications markets such as base stations, test equipment, and IF receivers, among others.
The MCP37DX1-200 and MCP372X1-200 are supported by Microchip's MCP37XXX-200 16-bit VTLA evaluation board (ADM00505) priced at $399.00; Microchip's MCP37XXX-200 12-bit VTLA evaluation board (ADM00619) priced at $399.00; and the MCP37XXX-200 data capture board (ADM00506) priced at $599.00.
