An additional variant, the 5A-rated RPL-5.0, operates over a wide input range of 2.75–17V and can be programmed for an output of 0.6V–12V. All DC/DC converters are housed in low-profile QFN packages with footprints ranging from 2 x 2mm for the 0.5A version to 4 x 6mm for the 6A version. The RPL-5.0's wide input footprint is 3 x 3mm. The components feature thermally enhanced flip-chip technology and high efficiency of up to 92%, enabling operation at high ambient temperatures, for example, 125°C for the RPZ-1.0 with power reduction.
All parts are fully protected against short circuits, overcurrent, overtemperature, and input undervoltage, making the RPZ and RPL ranges robust and reliable under the most demanding conditions. Selected variants include a power and enable pin.
Typical applications for CC/CC RPZ and RPL are imaging systems, distributed power architectures, optical modules, and battery-powered portable equipment in telecommunications and industrial applications.
