The ACS70310 is ideal for hybrid and electric vehicle inverter applications that require high-precision sensing at 1000 Amps or more, and offers a robust solution with diagnostic features that can help improve functional safety and reliability.
The ACS70310 linear current sensor IC achieves a sensitivity of +/- 1.2% and a compensation error of +/- 5mV within the automotive temperature range of -40°C to 150°C. Providing short-circuit and overcurrent detection, the ACS70310 offers an analog output voltage proportional to the applied magnetic field. For enhanced safety, the ACS70310 output has a response time of 2µs and a typical operating bandwidth of 240kHz.
This current sensor IC is also extremely robust. The ACS70310's onboard power regulator allows the power pin to withstand voltages of +/- 18V to protect against reverse battery connection, and the output pin can withstand voltages from +16 to -6V to protect against automotive voltage transients.

The ACS70310 is field-programmable by the customer to optimize both sensitivity and compensation after installation in the final system. Other parameters are also programmable (see datasheet for complete details). Customers can also order devices programmed by Allegro and perform quick and efficient software calibration of both sensitivity and compensation using their system microcontroller.
The sensor IC incorporates a high-sensitivity Hall element with a BiCMOS interface integrated circuit that employs a low-signal, low-noise, high-gain amplifier, as well as a low-impedance output stage and a patented high-bandwidth dynamic offset cancellation technique.
The IC is supplied in an extremely thin (1 mm thick), 4-pin SIP (single in-line package, suffix KT) case that is lead-free (Pb), with a matte 100% tin-lead frame.
