The Allegro ALS31300 is pre-configured and available for use in joystick mode, including crouch capability, or single-ended X, Y, and Z modes. Single-ended configurations are suitable for 3D linear sensing or 2D angle sensing applications and are available with three different factory-programmed sensitivity ranges: ±500 G, ±1000 G, and ±2000 G. The temperature sensitivity coefficient is pre-programmed to support the drift profile of neodymium magnets. This new device has been specifically designed for gaming, electrical measurement, household appliances, and industrial applications.
The ALS31300 incorporates an I2C interface for easy integration into a wide variety of applications. The I2C address can be configured by external resistors (16 unique addresses) or programmed into EEPROM via I2C (127 unique addresses), allowing multiple devices on the same bus. The ALS31300 also includes 78 bits of user EEPROM.
The ALS31300's power management is highly configurable, allowing system-level optimization of supply current and performance. Standby mode consumes only 14 nA (typical), making the ALS31300 suitable for battery-powered portable applications.
The ALS31300 is supplied in a 3 mm x 3 mm x 0.8 mm 10-pin DFN ("EJ") package. This small package is lead-free (Pb) with 100% matte tin plating.
