The nRF7002 Wi-Fi 6 add-on IC, available from Mouser, provides seamless Wi-Fi connectivity and Wi-Fi-based location (SSID tracking of local Wi-Fi hubs). This ultra-low-power device is ideal for a range of applications requiring reliable wireless connectivity, such as battery-powered Wi-Fi products, smart city and smart farming applications, smart home devices, industrial sensors, medical and wearable devices, and asset tracking applications.

With Wi-Fi 6, the nRF7002 device supports all wireless protocols: Matter, Bluetooth LE for startup, Thread for low-power mesh, and Wi-Fi for high performance. Matter is a connectivity standard for IoT devices that enables communication between smart devices in home or industrial environments. The Matter protocol is supported by Apple, Amazon, Google, Nordic Semiconductor, Samsung, and hundreds of other companies. The nRF7002 Wi-Fi 6 companion IC is designed to coexist seamlessly with all protocols, including Bluetooth LE, Thread, and Zigbee.

The nRF7002 Wi-Fi 6 add-on IC is compatible with the nRF7002-DK Wi-Fi 6 development kit. The nRF7002-DK includes an nRF5340 multiprotocol system-on-a-chip as the host device for the nRF7002 IC. The development kit allows developers to utilize Wi-Fi 6 features such as beamforming, OFDMA, and target wake-up time in their low-power Wi-Fi 6 applications. The nRF7002-DK development kit includes Arduino-compatible headers, enabling easy expansion.
