The new PUSB3BB2DF, PESD5V0C2BDF and PESD4V0Z2BCDF devices provide best-in-class ESD protection and the highest system robustness, as they combine high RF performance with very low clamping and very high surge capability.
Stefan Seider, product group manager at Nexperia, comments: "Electrical engineers designing HDMI 2.1, USB, Thunderbolt and other high-speed interfaces can miniaturize their designs while benefiting from industry-leading RF performance."
The new components combine two TrEOS protection diodes in a miniature DFN0603-3 package, allowing two diodes in the space of one. In addition to saving space, this reduces the number of components and increases reliability. Furthermore, the package is well-known, so there are no unforeseen manufacturing issues to worry about.
The new DFN0603-3 device family supports very high data rates, offering a maximum bandwidth exceeding 18 GHz, 50% higher than competing products. The devices also feature high surge resistance, up to 11 A 8/20 µs. TrEOS 2-in-1 surge protection devices are now available.
