Flexible energy management with the CI IDT P95020
Key features of the IDT P95020 architecture include an advanced high-fidelity audio subsystem, clock generator, resistive touch sensors, backlight LED driver, Li+/polymer battery charger, multi-channel DC-DC converters, and a high-resolution ADC. Thanks to its integrated microcontroller, the IDT P95020 offers unlimited programmability and flexibility for designs utilizing top-tier multimedia application processors. All functional blocks are accessible via I2C. Programmable regulators meet the dynamic voltage adjustment requirements of application processors.
The IDT P95020 is the latest generation of cost-effective and customizable power management integrated circuits (PMICs), delivering optimal levels of performance, functionality, programmability, and flexibility to designers of portable consumer electronics systems. Its subsystems consist of multiple switching-mode DC-DC converters and LDO regulators, battery charge management, white LED drivers, low-power stereo audio and voice codec systems with a mixer function, a Class D amplifier and headphone driver, a phase-locked loop (PLL) for on-chip and off-chip clock generation, and a touchscreen controller. The integrated CPU utilizes on-board system management resources, such as a 12-bit successive approximation analog-to-digital converter (SAR) for instrumentation systems and a real-time clock, to optimize flexibility and reduce overall system power dissipation. The IDT P95020 is the first PMIC of its kind to integrate all system power management and regulation functions with user interface subsystems, such as audio and touch interfaces. It is available in 132-pin QFN and WCSP packages, with dimensions of 10 mm x 10 mm and 7 mm x 7 mm, respectively.
Evaluation kits, predefined sampling procedures, and the procedure creation tool, based on the IDT graphical user interface, are available.
