The circuit allows for the handling of power stages with voltages up to 600 V, providing the necessary capacity to drive both the low-side and high-side transistors of a half-bridge. The logic inputs are compatible with CMOS or TTL control signals for easy connection to various control units, such as microcontrollers or DSPs. It incorporates a bootstrap circuit, undervoltage protection, and internal dead-time control to prevent simultaneous conduction of both transistors in the half-bridge. Thanks to all these features, the HT7K6970 enables the implementation of highly efficient and robust switching stages under demanding conditions, while also simplifying their design by reducing the number of external components.
In addition, the device also offers two internal protection features:
- Undervoltage lockout at the power supply input.
- 2. Undervoltage blocking at the bootstrap output.
These features prevent abnormal temperature increases caused by power switches operating under excessively low gate voltage. The device is available in 8-pin SOP and 16-pin NSOP packages. It is suitable for use in products such as inverters, induction cookers, and high-voltage brushless DC motor drivers.
