Infineon's CoolMOS P7 MOSFETs offer up to a 0.6 percent efficiency increase and 2 to 8 degrees Celsius lower operating temperatures compared to similar MOSFETs tested in typical flyback applications. The CoolMOS P7 family achieves this performance by reducing EOSS and Qg by more than 50 percent, as well as reductions in Ciss and Coss. The devices also enable higher power density in designs through lower switching losses and exceptional RDS(ON). Overall, the CoolMOS P7 family helps designers save on bill of materials costs and reduce assembly effort.
The CoolMOS P7 devices integrate a Zener diode to significantly improve electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection to Class 2 (HBM), helping to reduce ESD-related production performance losses. The devices are easy to handle and design due to a best-in-class gate threshold voltage of 3V and the smallest gate threshold voltage variation of only ±0.5V. Mouser is now supplying the 800V CoolMOS P7 devices in a variety of packages with connecting resistors of 280, 450, 1400, and 4500 mOhms to fully meet target applications.
