The MediaTek AUTUS I20 (MT2712) is a high-performance hexa-core entertainment solution with a flexible interface that supports multiple displays. It connects drivers to their vehicles to enhance their driving experience, passenger safety, connectivity, and entertainment by providing information and content from the vehicle's sensors and multimedia sources. Next-generation surround-view applications demand support for four simultaneous video cameras, but legacy networking technology has struggled to provide the required bandwidth and transmission distance.
Maxim's GMSL SerDes technology provides robust video distribution for MediaTek's surround-view applications. One Maxim MAX9286 automotive deserializer and four Maxim MAX96705 serializers deliver synchronized video streams from four cameras over 15 meters of shielded twisted pair (STP) or coaxial cable. Advanced power management features help MediaTek address critical performance, efficiency, and flexibility criteria. To support data transmission for automotive sensors, entertainment content, and navigation, MediaTek's MT2712 IVI platform designers sought higher-speed, higher-voltage memory technology. This was achieved using Maxim's MAX20010 high-current 6A buck converter with dynamic voltage scaling, enabling MediaTek to migrate to higher-voltage memory. In addition, Maxim's MAX15007 linear regulator and the MAX8902B low-noise linear regulator provide the required power rail performance for MediaTek's various design platforms.

The Maxim converter also provides a skip mode to conserve power when the MediaTek IVI is running under light load.
