The system features 14 internal balance switches with a capacity of >300mA for cell balance current, each supporting comprehensive diagnostics. Up to 32 devices can be daisy-chained to manage 448 cells and monitor over 100 temperatures.

The Maxim Integrated MAX17852 14-channel data acquisition system can shut down in the event of a thermal overload by measuring the temperature of its own array. Applications include high-voltage battery banks, electric vehicles (EVs), hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs), battery-powered tools, battery backup systems, and more.
