The MAX22445 offers reliable communication through the isolation barrier to ensure the safe operation of industrial, medical, and other equipment, delivering up to 2x higher performance with 4x lower power consumption than competing solutions.

In high-voltage equipment, digital isolators provide signal isolation and level shifting for the proper operation of many circuits, while also protecting users from hazards such as electric shock. However, not all isolators are created equal, as many consume a large amount of power, generate significant heat, and introduce large propagation delays, limiting system reliability and performance.insulator diagram

Overcoming the shortcomings of other digital isolators, the MAX22445 offers reinforced dual-barrier isolation for fast digital signals. Mitigating the hazards of high-voltage power, the IC transfers signals at up to 200 Mbps using significantly less power than competing solutions. It is available in a 16-pin widebody SOIC package with 8 mm creepage and clearance.

Key advantages

Low power consumption: 0.41mA per channel current draw and 0.74mW power consumption at 1Mbps with VDD at 1.8V. The IC has 4 times lower power consumption compared to competing solutions, while reducing heat generation and enabling reliable and compact designs.

High speed: A maximum propagation delay of 10.5ns and a maximum data rate of 200Mbps enable fast and accurate data acquisition and high-speed interfaces with ample timing margins. The IC offers up to twice the performance compared to other available solutions.

Robust and reliable: Double insulation barriers provide 5 kVRMS and 10 kV overvoltage for reliable performance over a long product life period and meet the required safety standards for operator protection.
