Microchip Technology (Nasdaq: MCHP) today announced its SAMA7D65 series of microprocessors based on an Arm® Cortex®-A7 core up to 1 GHz, available in System-in-Package (SiP) with 2 Gb of DDR3L RAM and System-on-Chip (SoC) configurations. The SAMA7D65 series microprocessors are designed for human-machine interface (HMI) and connectivity applications, thanks to their advanced graphics capabilities.

Among the graphic features of the SAMA7D65 microprocessors are their LVDS and MIPI DSI® interfaces and a 2D graphics processor, which allow more data to be transmitted and processed for efficient graphics performance, making it an optimal solution for HMI in the industrial, medical and transport markets.

The SAMA7D65 microprocessors, with their advanced audio and connectivity features, include dual Gigabit Ethernet with TSN (Time Sensitive Networking) support, enabling the precise synchronization and low-latency communication essential for real-time systems. These features target HMI applications in industrial and building automation, where error-free data exchange and deterministic networking are paramount for fast and reliable user interfaces.

The SAMA7D65D2G SiP integrates 2 GB of DDR3L memory for high-speed synchronous dynamic random access operations, while its low-power design also improves energy efficiency. SiPs are designed to accelerate the design process and time to market by addressing the design requirements of high-speed memory interfaces and simplifying memory power delivery.
