The MGJ1T series has been developed to address the increased system voltages and switching speeds in applications such as energy storage systems (ESS/BESS), microgrids, electric vehicle charging infrastructure, industrial motor drives, and high-voltage power converters. Thanks to Murata's patented block-wound transformer technology and its UK manufacturing, the series offers improved insulation performance, low coupling capacitance, and high immunity to fast-switching transients, enabling stable operation in noisy environments.
Configured as a compact 1W solution, the converters support nominal input voltages of 12V, 15V, and 24V, and provide dual regulated outputs of +15V/-3V, +15V/-5V, and +18V/-2.5V. A key differentiator of the MGJ1T series is its high insulation performance. Each device undergoes 100% production HiPot testing at 6kV DC for one second and is rated at the same level for one minute, ensuring robust dielectric strength. The series complies with UL62368-1 and offers reinforced insulation with a working voltage of 800Vrms for applications requiring high levels of protection with a continuous barrier withstand voltage of 2.2kV DC. Its internal design achieves a creepage distance and clearance of 14mm, ensuring reliable operation in high-voltage environments.
The MGJ1T series is characterized by common-mode transient immunity (CMTI) exceeding 200 kV/µs. Combined with an ultra-low isolation capacitance, typically 2.5 pF, this significantly reduces high-frequency noise coupling across the isolation barrier and enables stable switching in SiC-based designs.
Operating at a switching frequency of approximately 700 kHz, the converters achieve typical ripple and noise of 10 mVp-p and efficiencies of up to 77%. The series maintains regulation under all load conditions and is designed for reliable startup on capacitive loads, enabling practical gate control implementations.
The MGJ1T series operates across a wide temperature range, from -40°C to +115°C. Its reliability has been assessed through extensive environmental testing, including 1,000 temperature cycles between -40°C and +125°C, as well as humidity, vibration, shock, and ESD testing in accordance with JEDEC standards. The series is also characterized by its partial discharge performance, ensuring long-term insulation integrity by identifying micro-level insulation defects before they develop into large-scale failures.
Presented in a compact surface-mount format, the MGJ1T series is compatible with standard lead-free reflow processes and supports automated assembly. The converters are supplied in tape and reel packaging and are designed to meet the requirements of high-density PCB designs, with optimized thermal performance when used on multilayer boards.
