New modulesThe new PS22A79 features the sixth generation of LPT-CSTBT (Light-Punch Through Carrier Stored Trench-Gate Bipolar Transistor) chips, in which storage has been improved by reducing cell pitch and power loss is minimized by applying the thin wafer process. The model reduces power loss by 15% compared to the previous 5th generation IGBT.

The integrated temperature sensor module offers significantly improved linearity and accuracy compared to the existing PS22A78-E (35A) model, resulting in more efficient temperature control. Manufacturers will benefit from further size reductions in inverter systems, as well as lower production costs.

To save energy and increase performance, a wide range of currents, from several amps to hundreds of amps, are being rapidly adopted for motor control inverter-based systems. DIPIPM modules, marketed worldwide by Mitsubishi Electric in 1997, are widely used in inverters integrated into household appliances such as air conditioners, refrigerators, and washing machines, as well as in motor control inverter systems for industrial applications.
