Würth Elektronik launches its new series of power modules, featuring five variable output voltage modules and two fixed output voltage modules. Both versions include an automatic voltage- and current-controlled disconnection mechanism, as well as thermal protection.
The modules are designed for applications in industrial electronics, telecommunications, railway, medicine, for powering Point-of-Load DC/DC transformers, FPGAs, DSPs, MCUs & MPUs and input/output interfaces.
The input and output capacitors are integrated into the 3.3V and 5.0V fixed output voltage modules (MagI³C-FDRM), achieving 95% efficiency. No external components are required for the DC/DC Step-Down function, reducing material, storage, and production costs. For the 5V to 8V input voltage versions, modules up to 3A are available, ideal for 12V power supply applications.
The variable output voltage modules (MagI³C-VDRM) feature inputs from 6 to 42 V, as well as output voltages from 0.8 to 24 V. In addition, both the switching frequency (from 200 kHz to 800 kHz) and the Soft-Start are adjustable.
The modules are characterized by their high energy density and their surface area is smaller than that of a discrete solution.

Evaluation boards will be available starting in September. These boards allow for quick and easy verification of module performance and adjustment of external components to the parameters appropriate for your specific application.
