The RPX-1.0 and RPX-1.5 buck converters come in thermally enhanced miniature 3 mm x 5 mm QFN packages with a 1.6 mm profile and feature innovative 3D power packaging technology. The construction is an overmolded 'Flip Chip on Leadframe' (FCoL) design with an integrated and shielded inductor, resulting in low EMI and high electrical and thermal performance. Each converter has an input range of 4–36 V DC and an adjustable output between 0.8 and 30 V DC, tuned by external resistors. The RPX-1.0 is rated at 1 A and the RPX-1.5 at 1.5 A, each with a typical full-load efficiency of 87% and minimal light-load losses. Depending on the input/output voltage and load, maximum efficiency can exceed 95%, and the operating ambient temperature can exceed 100°C.

The modules are protected against short circuits, overcurrents, overtemperatures, and input undervoltage, and are equipped with enable, power, soft-start, and external synchronization functions. To facilitate rapid testing, RECOM also offers evaluation cards for the RPX, enabling customers to perform tests quickly and easily.
