The BG29 is available in wafer-level compact chip packages (WLCSP) and four-pin lead-free flat package (QFN), with substantial memory capacity including significant RAM and Flash resources. These expanded memory resources enable advanced applications such as real-time data processing, execution of complex algorithms, and high-speed communication protocols.

It features a DC-DC amplifier to support a wide voltage range, a Coulomb counter for accurate battery monitoring, and Silicon Labs Secure Vault™ High designed for PSA Level 3 to protect sensitive data.

The new BG29 family of SoCs is equipped with key features such as:
• Compact size: With its compact size, the BG29 is available in WLCSP and QFN packages, offering industry-leading connectivity for a wide range of wireless devices, including connected health, asset trackers, and building automation. The WLCSP package can be used for tiny devices such as battery-powered sensors, insulin delivery patches, disposable continuous glucose monitors (CGMs), and other single-use applications, as well as smart dental implants. Meanwhile, the QFN package is ideal for device types without size restrictions, such as pulse oximeters, access control, industrial automation, and heart rate monitors.

• Ample memory and processing power with ultra-low power consumption: With 1 MB of flash memory and 256 kB of RAM, the BG29 delivers superior performance and processing power for advanced and demanding applications while ensuring low power consumption. The ample memory keeps track of data even during extended smartphone connection interruptions. The BG29 enables Bluetooth LE for IoT devices such as wearable medical devices, smart home sensors, asset trackers, and more.

• Integrated DC-DC Amplifier and Coulomb Counter: The BG29's integrated DC-DC amplifier provides IoT device manufacturers with a wide voltage range, enabling the use of single-cell alkaline, silver oxide, and coin cell batteries and reducing the device's form factor. The integrated Coulomb counter allows for accurate battery level monitoring in wearable medical devices to prevent battery drain during the use of health-critical applications and improve the user experience of other devices and wearables.

• Industry-leading security: Secure Vault High with Virtual Secure Engine provides robust security capabilities that protect the device against scalable local and remote software and hardware attacks, providing advanced encryption, secure key management, and authentication.

The BG29 packs more power into a smaller SoC to help device manufacturers create safe and reliable designs that improve patients' lives and outcomes. To learn more about Silicon Labs' Bluetooth Low Energy devices and how customers are using Silicon Labs to advance connected health, visit:
