coil-power-wThe pot-shaped ferrite core offers the key advantages of concentrating the magnetic field inside the coil, increasing the coil's maximum possible distance from the receiver, and reducing outward radiation. Its round shape also significantly reduces the required mounting space.
 
Smaller transmitter coils are also necessary for small receiver coils, as the area ratio between the transmitter and receiver coils significantly impacts power transmission efficiency.
To provide a transmitter solution for the small receiver market (sensors, wearables, hearing aids, etc.), the 760 308 101 103 was developed. This compact transmitter coil delivers up to 5W and is also compliant with the WPC Qi standard. With a diameter of 30 mm, its area is only about one-third that of the 760 308 100 111 coil, for example.
 
Currently, there are two inductive wireless power standards: the WPC Qi standard and the Power Matters Alliance PMA standard. Würth Elektronik offers a standard dual receiving coil – 760 308 102 210 – for this purpose. The advantage of this high-quality coil, with Litz wire and ferrite reinforcement in the center, is that devices using this solution can be charged at stations compatible with both charging standards.
