The new AirMatrix (QA-Series) and SolidMatrix (QF-Series) fuses are manufactured in a TS16949 certified facility.
Both product lines offer automotive design engineers efficiency in various applications, from engine control and battery management systems to communication and infotainment systems.
The QA-Series boasts the highest current rating in the industry (up to 20A/250V) and, with its unique, hermetically sealed wire-in-air structure, ensures consistent power delivery.
The QF-Series fuses offer excellent thermal and mechanical stability across a very wide temperature range (-55°C to +150°C).
“The QA-Series fuse element (wire-in-air) is uniformly bonded internally and to the outer cover through a coating process,” explains Klaus Kruse, AEM's distributor in Germany and Europe.
“Competitors use solder balls in a ceramic tube to make the fuse connection. This traditional approach has the disadvantage of inconsistent performance and the risk of connection failure caused by thermal/mechanical stress such as vibration or bending, and by soldering errors.”
AEM automotive fuses have been specially created to improve effectiveness under adverse conditions by eliminating solder points.
The QA series is sold in two fast-acting versions:
- 2410 housing with a rating of 0.5-20A / 65-250V and
- 1206 housing with a rating of 1.5-15A / 32-65V.
The QF series is offered in both fast-acting and time-lag versions, and in 1206 and 0603 housings with a current rating up to 8A.
